Crystals that have lyrics called "hymns" that are sung by Reyvateil to control the Tower. It's like a memory card. The thoughts of the song are encrypted in these crystals which only Reyvateils can understand.
Hymn Crystals can craft a different song depending on the Reyvateil, but this is because each Reyvateil has a different sensibility. The effects when used are not different.
