Zack: Hm? I thought I felt some kind of presence... Was it just my imagintion...? [Zack barges into the church and sees a strange creature standing by Aerith] Aerith: Zack! [Zack approaches it slowly and sees that its an Angeal copy] Zack: An Angeal copy? [A little machine enters the church and the monster attacks it...destroying the machine] Zack: Thank you. Aerith: Was it... protecting us? Zack: Yeah, probably. [The monster falls over] Zack: Looks like...it's degrading. Aerith: Poor thing... Zack: Does this mean... Angeal is out there, too? [it flies around] Aerith: It was so...I don't know...sad. Zack: What did you... come here to do? Aerith: So...a flower wagon! Let's make one! Zack: Mm... Yeah, but... Aerith: Don't worry. Zack: Can you hear me? Stay right where you are! I'll...I'll take care of things. Aerith: So, that flower wagon...let's do it. Come on, Zack! Come this way! Zack: Uh, yeah? Hey, Aerith? When the wagon's done, you're gonna go sell flowers above the plate too, right? Aerith: Yeah...But, I'm still a little scared, so... First, I'll fill the slums with flowers... Zack: Oh, come on, Aerith! When you go above, I'll go with you. There's no need to be scared. Aerith: Thanks, Zack! Zack: All right! Let's get started on that wagon, then! I'll go gather the materials. Aerith, you wait here. Aerith: Okay! [Zack goes and gathers all of the materials. Later on, after he gets them all, he heads back to the Church and Aerith and him put it together.] Aerith: Not quite what I expected. [Shows a really small cart filled with flowers] Zack: Really? I think it's fine. It's all about the flowers, anyway. Aerith: I want a nicer one. Zack: Stop being so picky! Aerith: A tiny little wish, that's all. Zack: They're tiny, but you have lots, right? Aerith: That's right. Wanna hear? Zack: How many you got? Aerith: Hmm...twenty...three? Zack: Write them down, so I don't forget. [Cell phone rings] Sephiroth: There are new developements. Zack: What? Sephiroth: Headquarters. Now. Aerith: Work stuff? Zack: Sadly. Aerith: Here. [hands over a piece of paper] [Back at the HQ office] Sephiroth: Legions of monsters have spawned near a regional mako reactor. The workers have all gone missing. Local SOLDIER operatives have also vanished. The company is dispatching additional operatives to investigate the matter. You and I, that is. Zack: Roger that... Sephiroth: What's wrong? Zack: Well, you know... I thought you found something out about... that other matter. Sephiroth: The missing operatives were the ones tracking Lazard. Also, they have reported a strange podlike device in the area. Zack: Is that...Hollander's...? Sephiroth: Probably the same device that was stolen in Modeoheim. Zack: Meaning... Sephiroth: Lazard, Hollander... Zack: ...and Genesis? Sephiroth: We'll have to go see them. Zack: Mm...Let's go. Sephiroth: First, go to the SOLDIER floor. We'll depart as soon as you and the rest of the men are ready to go. Zack: Understood. Sephiroth: Our orders are to investigate the reactor. They mention nothing of...old friends. Depending on what happens, I may abandon Shinra. Until then, I'll remain loyal to SOLDIER. [SOLDIER floor] Zack: Nobody seems to be coming... Kunsel: Oh, hey, Zack. I heard you're going on a new assignent with Sephiroth. I've also recieved new orders to inspect the mako reactor at Fort Condor. Looks like we won't see each other for a while. Zack: Yeah, I guess this is goodbye... Kunsel: Hey, why the long face? Are you that sad to see me go? [Option will come up. Can choose either "I have to be away from Aerith" or "...I love you, man!" I chose the latter] Kunsel: Aww, I didn't know you ca-- ...Hey! Quit joking around! It's the girl in the slums that you're thinking about! You still have some time, right? You should go see her before you leave. Don't worry about it! I'll explain everything to Sephiroth. [Zack goes off to see Aerith at the Church] Aerith: Oh, Zack. Are yuo done with work already? Zack: Actually, I was given an important assignment and I have to leave Midgar for a while. Aerith: When will you be back? Zack: Hmm...I really don't know... Aerith: Oh... Can I call you? Zack: Of course! And don't worry, the job will be a cinch. I'll be back in no time! Aerith: Hey, let's start now! Zack: Huh? Start what? Aerith: Start filling the slums with flowers! [Aerith pushes the cart to the slum playground] Zack: Yeah, it's really cute! I like it. Aerith: Do you think we'll sell a lot of flowers? [After a while] Nobody's coming... Zack: Just give it a little more time! A lot of people will come, you'll see! Aerith: Hmm...I think maybe it's because the wagon doesn't look very nice... Oh, a customer! [A man walks past and Zack rushes him] Zack: Hey, you there! Wanna buy some flowers? 10 gil a pop! That's a special one-day-offer! You're not gonna find a better price anywhere! [Zack runs back to Aerith] Aerith! The customer will buy if you can go down to 5 gil. Aerith: Sure! Any price is fine. Zack: No, we have to be a little more aggressive than that. I'll renegotiate for 7 gil. Aerith: But... The customer just left... Zack: I'm sorry, Aerith... Aerith: Why are you sorry? I'm having such a wonderful time. Because you're here with me. Hey, look, Zack! Another customer! [Shows Tseng hiding and watching them, Zack walks over to him] Tseng: Don't worry about Aerith. Protecting the subject is part of survelilance duty. Zack: You're the only one I can depend on. [Tseng laughs] Zack: Hey, why are you laughing! I'm counting on you! [runs off] [Back at SOLDIER HQ] Kunsel: Oh, you're back. You're in luck. Sephiroth isn't here yet. So, what are you gonna do? Are you just gonna wait here? Zack: Thanks for everything. Let's finish our respective assignments quickly, and meet up once again in Midgar. Kunsel: Will do. Until we meet again! [Zack walks through the building and finds Cloud] Zack: What's up? Cloud: I'm having a little trouble rounding up the group... Zack: We're in a hurry, let's move it! Cloud: Sir! Zack: Wha--Cloud? Together again, eh? Both: All right! Cloud: Thanks. Hold on, I'll get everyone. [Cloud and two other men are lined up when Sephiroth shows up] Zack: By the way, where are we going? Sephiroth: To Nibelheim. [ End of chapter screen! ] |
