Songstress' don't have the ability to attack enemies or to heal the party, however, they do have a lot of helpful skills! While on in battle, a songstress can do a little dance and cause a status ailment to all enemies with a 100% success rate, minus the times when an enemy is immune to the said stat. This works quite well, especially in the beginning of the game when casting darkness. If you don't want to dance, you can have the songstress use a skill, such as Battle Cry which raises strength. Other songs will raises other stats of the party members.

The real problem lies in that the songstress has very little HP and defense. She's not going to last a very long time in battle without someone constantly healing her.

How to Obtain:
You don't really need to do anything to get it! It's yours after you complete the first mission of the game.

* You'll need to get the Magical Dances, Vol I. Book to learn this skill. You can get it by fighting the boss in the Den of Woe at Mushroom Rock Road.
** Yet again, you'll have to go through some trouble to be able to learn this skill. You'll need to find the Magical Dances Vol. II book. You can score this item by defeating Expirement Machine at Djose temple in Chapter 5 of the game.
