Basic Profile
Kimahri was not only Yuna's very first guardian, but he is also her most loyal. He would do absolutely anything for the young summoner, even if it meant sacrificing his own existence for her happiness and saftey. When Yuna was only a little girl, after High Summoner Braska defeated Sin, Kimahri brought Yuna to the Isle of Besaid where she met Wakka and Lulu. The three of them grew up happily as Kimahri watched over the young woman from a distance, always making sure she never found harm.
Kimahri is a member of the Ronso tribe - a race of humanoid cat-like creatures that walk upright and live in the mountain region - Gagazet. They are tall, strong, and powerful. Kimahri happens to be quite small, though, for a member of the tribe. For some unknown reason Kimahri's horn seems to be broken - a horn which all Ronso members have in the middle of their heads.
At the beginning of the game, Kimahri refuses to say a word to the hero of the game, Tidus, and even comes across as agressive and avoident of this young man. However, as Kimahri learns that Tidus is a nice guy and does not wish Yuna any sort of harm, Kimahri warms up to the blonde-haired hero and eventually offers words of advice.
 
Personality
Kimahri is the strong and silent type. He rarely says anything but when he does it usually has a great significance. He is very protective of the Lady Summoner Yuna, risking his life in order to keep her out of danager. As well, he will not let anyone near her that he thinks may be harmful to her. He always keeps a protective watch over her no matter where she may go. Kimahri is loyal and has stayed by her side since she was a small child. His loyalty is unmatched.
Possibly Spoiling Information
Kimahri first met Yuna when she was a small child. When everyone was out celebrating the victory of Lord Braska defeating Sin, tiny Yuna was at a bridge in Bevelle crying her eyes out. She was alone, and Kimahri had made a promise to Braska that he would take Yuna somewhere safe, thus Kimahri took little Yuna to the peaceful Island of Besaid.
Since Kimahri was no longer allowed in his birthplace and the home of every member of the Ronso tribe - Mt. Gagazet - he decided to stay by little Yuna's side. As time went on, Kimahri became quite attached to the little girl, thus he watched over her day-after-day, making sure she was safe and never in harm's way. In this way he became Yuna's most loyal and devoted guardian - willing to risk anything. As she grew up, things stayed this way, throughout Yuna's entire journey through Spira.
At one point the party did cross Mt. Gagazet. Kimahri was challenged by the Ronso there, for they felt he was a traitor and weak, however, Kimahri proved that even though he was smaller than the other Ronso, that he still had a place as a member of the tribe, thus the Ronso decided to accept Kimahri back into their group.
