Chocobos are birdlike creatures that are used as a transportation source in Final Fantasy VII. They come in many kinds and each kind has their own special skills! The neat thing about FFVII is that you can bread your chocobo's and get the ultimate chocobos.

Some Chocobo Basics
You will first need to head out to the Choco Ranch. Talk to Choco bill and he will explain things to you. You will need the chocobo materia,which is just a tad pricey. You will also need to rent some stalls. You will need at least three handy for breeding. After you get everything done,go find some chocobo footprints outside. The chocobo Footprints is where you find chocobos at. To get the chocobo you will need to enter a battle and defeat the monsters.

You can buy Greens for two purposes. The first one is to raise chocobos speed,intellegence,stamina,and attitude. The other is to feed them while you are killing off enemies in battle, since they will run off after a while. There are also things called "nuts". Chocobos eat these when they breed. When you get a male and female chocobo, whom have been trained, you can create a new chocobo.

Special Chocobos

Now here comes the good stuff! Read below to see how to breed some neat ones.

Mountain or River-Green and Blue
Mate a great or Good using the Carob nut.

Mountain and River- Black
Mate a mountain and river chocobo with a carob nut.

When you have a black chocobo You could try to breed a gold one. Make the black chocobo mate with a wonderful chocobo with a Zeio Nut.
