North Corel
In North Corel, you should first take a look at the shops and stock up on items. Whenever you are done, go to the area where the car Leads to Gold Saucer and Barret will talk about his past for a short while. Eventually, it will ask if you want to go to the Gold Saucer. Say yes, and you'll get aboard the car.
Gold Saucer
The Gold Saucer is a giant amusement park full of things to do! Sadly, you have to buy a pass each time you get in, unless you have 30,000 gil for the lifetime pass. So, you probably don't have that yet, so opt in for the 3,000 gil one-day pass.
Everything in Gold Saucer uses GP, even saving, so watch out! You can gain GP in the "Wonder Square."
When you head in the Gold Saucer, Barret will run off. Hmph! How rude! Anyway, pick a partner ^___^!! Now, go to Wonder Square and you'll meet Caith Sith. Ahhh~ He forces his way into your party. If you want to play games, continue on to wonder square and play, but if you want to advance the story, go to the Battle Square. You'll find lots of dead bodies and you'll get accused of killing them all. You'll eventually be transported to the Corel Prison... all for crimes you did not commit!
