Game Information

Final Fantasy IX focuses around a young man by the name of Zidane. Zidane is a member of a thief group that also doubles as a theater group named Tantalus. At the beginning of the game, Tantalus is heading for the large town of Alexandria to perform a popular play for the nobles of the town entitled "I want to be your canary." Though, the performance is just a mask and their real intention is to kidnap the princess of Alexandria, Garnet.

According to Square, this game was meant to mix the best of the old with the best of the new in the series. At the time, the graphics in Final Fantasy IX were by far some of the best that have been seen in the series. Along with this, Square also hid various refrences to the past games in the series, such as the crystals, chocobos, moogles, and even a secret that lets one play music from a previous game in the Black Mage Village.

Fans generally either loved or disliked this game. One way to decide if you'll want to purchase the game is to ask yourself if you like cute things. If the answeris yes, you'll want this game. The graphics are cute, the story is cute, and a lot of times, the dialogue is also quite adorable. That is indeed one way to summon up the game. The story is pretty plot heavy, but there is nothing too deep or dark about this game.
