Basic Profile

A beautiful young woman. Garnet is the Princess of Alexandria and heir to the throne of the country. She is a very highly educated young woman and very noble and well-spoken. She is what could be called the picture perfect princess in nearly every aspect. At the beginning of the game, Garnet is to be kidnapped by Zidane and the rest of Tantalus during the play I Want to be Your Canary. However, little do they know at the time that Garnet actually wants to be kidnapped and had planned to sneak on their ship during this play.

Garnet begins a long journey with Zidane at this time. The two of them travel all the way back to Lindblum together and then some. Garnet's reason for wanting to sneak away from Alexandria? Ever since a strange man appeared Garnet's mother, Queen Brahn, has been acting quite strange. She wishes to talk to Cid, her uncle and the leader of Lindblum, about these problems.

During the journey Zidane and company suggest that Garnet take on a new name. Thus, she choses to be called "Dagger" after Zidane's weapon of choice.

Personality

Garnet is well-spoken, strong-willed, and highly educated. She is royalty at its finest. However, she had a sheltered upbringing which makes her quite shy and also rather naive. However, she is very kind and thoughtful. She thinks about the well being of others before her own, especially when it comes to those she loves, her mother included.

Possibly Spoiling Information

Garnet is not actually originally from Alexandria, nor is she actually the Princess and heir to the throne by blood. Garnet is actually from Madain Sari, the summoning village. She was there when she was a child, taken care of by her biological mother. The people of Madain Sari all have horns on their heads - the sign that they are a summoner, much like the horn which can be seen on Eiko's head.

On a stormy night, Garland attacks the village and kills nearly everyone. In haste, Garnet's mother goes with her daughter on boat and tries to get away. When this boat is found, Garnet's mother is dead and the small little girl is found. At this point, her horn is removed and she is raised as the King and Queen of Alexandria's daughter.

Garnet's real name is actually Sarah.
