This is a basic outline of known information for the game. Details may/may not change depending on Square-Enix's own ideas. However, all of this information has been translated out of magazine scans or has been released at press confrences or interviews.

Reality - Fantasy

A game that is said to be 'based on reality' in Square's words. While the setting of the game is pretty futuristic, there are elements of fantasy involved. There will be use of various types of magic as well as swords.

For example, in the image above. You should see a blonde woman. This young woman is wearing 'stylist' clothing that looks very modern for our current times. You should also notice the background in the left picture. It's a modern city full of skyscrappers that look just like ones you would see in any large city. However, if you look to the right, the young woman seems to be in a battle pose - with some sort of magic casting behind her body and a sword. This could be somewhat of what Square-Enix means by the "fantasy based on reality" bit. It is a modern setting, but with fantasy elements.

Various Information

The city the main character lives in as an isolated one. This same city does have the last remaining crystal. The main character of the story, the prince, is one in a long-line of people who protect the crystals. This game revolves around the battle of the crystals, with no so-called battle of "good versus evil" like a normal fantasy story would have.

The image above shows the hero of this game, the prince. Currently no name has been given to the prince.

However, his struggle protecting the crystal - no matter the outcome - will usher in a new era for the world he lives in. Whether it will be ideal or not is hard to say.
